Over the last few years, we’ve witnessed a dramatic shift in the way companies approach workplace modernization – and for obvious reasons. It’s still true that the objective is to give people the best possible technology for them to succeed in their jobs, but that’s no longer happening in traditional office settings, necessarily. With the rise of remote and hybrid work, the goal now is to give people devices and apps anywhere and everywhere – in whatever locations people work best.

According to Business News Daily, one of the hot topics in 2022 is the quest to use technology to enable easy communication and promote greater inclusion in the workforce. Now that teleconferencing and telework technologies have advanced to such a point that people and their collaborators can work fully remotely, we live in a different world. Managers can lead teams of people such that everyone is on a level playing field, whether they’re in the office or halfway around the planet.

This has helped dramatically reshape the workforce, explained Samantha Lambert, director of human resources at website design company Blue Fountain Media.

“Ten years ago, remote employment basically meant a telemarketing or customer service position at below minimum wage,” Lambert said. “It rarely was connected with a full-time career. Now, technology affords us the ability to get the same job done, no matter where in the world we are. [It has] enabled us to be in contact with co-workers or clients at any time.”

Having said that, there are still some improvements to be made when it comes to connecting the whole business world through technology. A recent survey by Buffer found that 75% of remote workers say their companies don’t cover the costs of their remote internet connectivity, and another 71% say they don’t pay for co-working spaces for their employees. This means that, in the majority of cases, people are left to fend for themselves and find their own means of staying connected with their co-workers. This is not always easy.

At Zones, we’re here to help. We offer a Remote Worker Solution that’s designed to keep the entire distributed workforce truly connected. In addition to the many services we offer for managing devices and other IT assets – including Mobile Device Management, Asset Management, and Lifecycle Management – we also have Collaboration solutions that are designed to set remote teams up for success, both short-term and long. Whether your people use Office 365, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, or any other collaboration platform in their remote work lives, we’ll keep them always connected and always working productively together.

The team at Zones has always had a keen focus on Workplace Modernization, but we understand better than anyone that the very definition of the term is changing. Modernizing the workplace today requires modernizing the whole world, and giving everyone the tools they need to stay connected and work together. We’re ready to roll up our sleeves and make that happen for your business next – all you’ve got to do is reach out and ask.
